I’m Zara, the Christian maker behind Lily Purl! I’m passionate about knitting, crochet and the environment, and created Lily Purl to bring more awareness about slow fashion and sustainable living.

I have always loved craft, and learned to knit and crochet from my Granma in 2016. I came to love design during the COVID-19 pandemic, which is a testament of how beauty can come from hard times. Spending time in lockdown allowed me to focus on my creativity.

My designs are modern, innovative and encourage you to find the beauty in and around you.

I am inspired by nature and strive to create size inclusive patterns for everyone to enjoy making and wearing! My favourite colours are pale pink and cloudy blue, and when I’m not crafting, you can find me travelling, experimenting in the kitchen, or snuggling up with a cup of tea and a good book!
